Free and easy things to keep the kids entertained this half term

February half term is upon us and parents everywhere are scrambling to come up with fun activities to entertain the kids before they go back!

It’s half term, and whether you haven’t got the time, resources or energy to get out and about, there are lots of things you can do to keep your kids entertained at home or out and about!

Visit a Museum

There is nothing more fun than heading out for the day and learning with the kids!

Scavenger hunts

Turn a walk or afternoon in the garden into something more memorable with a scavenger hunt!  Look around and make a list of things for your kids to tick off as you walk around the park, garden or the woods.

This can be bugs, birds, trees, notable buildings or other things that you are likely to pass.

You could turn it into a bit of a competition with some chocolates at the end!

Try out some new recipes

Cooking with your kids can be so much fun!  If you are a working parent then it may be hard for you to get some time off to do fun activities, but why not squeeze in some baking time.  If you are working from home, why not use your lunch break to rustle up a storm with your little ones.

Not only are you teaching them new skills, you are also having a wonderful time bonding together.

 

Have a Teddy Bears picnic 

 

Have an exciting meal time by creating a themed event!  Cut up some sandwiches, whip out some fancy plates!  Its a wonderful way to have a fun family event and use the half-term period to have some fun!

 

 

Half term is a wonderful time to get crafty with your kids. From teaching children how to knit, to whipping out some scissors and craft paper,  why not have a go at some of our craft projects?
