Axiom #4

Axiom 2b 2bjpeg3

The Dad Network axioms are ‘dad-hood’ proverbs. They pinpoint key principles of dad-hood and refine them down to unforgettable soundbites of wisdom that can be called upon instantly to inform a critical decision. And, as we all know, being a dad is full of critical decisions!

No Rhyme nor Reason

A few nights ago, we fed at 6:30pm, put the boy down at 7pm and he slept like a baby (well…he is a baby but you know what I mean) until 2am. The next day we did exactly the same during the day and with the evening routine and he was up all night!

The wife had the baby in a great position for feeding. He latched on well and quickly and had a brilliant feed so we tried it again later that day – he hated it and fed dreadfully!

Sometimes he likes being carried in the carrier; sometimes he hates it. Sometimes he settles himself within a few minutes and sometimes it takes hours.

There is no rhyme nor reason for these things so don’t blame yourself; chances are, there’s nothing you can do.
