For those of you who, like me, have gone into a state of hibernation since England’s Euros heartbreak, it’s time to arise once again. The Premier League returns with a bang, kicking off with the top-flight London derby between Brentford and Arsenal. We all know you’ve been checking the days off your footballing advent calendar and getting your predictions in for the new season, so we’ve collated some of the best spots in London to enjoy the fixtures this weekend.
Whether you’re a local to the city, or fancy a day trip to the capital, we’ve got you covered!
Belushi’s (multiple venues)
Belushi’s owns a total of six bars in London. Their different locations include Camden, Greenwich, Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush and two in London Bridge. The Dugout (London Bridge) is dedicated to sports, but all of the bars are great places to catch live screenings of your matches. Some of their locations offer private spaces for more intimate gatherings.

Bar Kick (Shoreditch)
Footy gets a dose of Continental class at Bar Kick – a hangout scattered with Formica tables, and draped in international football scarves. The drinks are not your usual fare – we have literally ordered a sidecar here during a Man Utd match, and the barman didn’t bat an eyelid. When there isn’t a match on, give your wrist a workout at the fuss ball tables.
The Porterhouse (Covent Garden)
12 levels of beer, live music – plus a van-load of Tv’s – make The Porterhouse a veritable fun house of booze. The beer flows freely (it’s their own beer too – try the oyster stout, with real oyster juice in it), and the good times roll.

After the sport’s done and dusted, the real party sparks into action: live bands, perched on the mezzanine, belt out feel-good hits, and everything is right with the world!
4. Moretown Belle (Tower of London)
Located near the Tower of London and St. Katherine’s Dock, the Moretown Belle has giant screens showing live sports. With beautiful flowery decorations, the owners bring a touch of glamour to the virile London sports bar scene. Pool tables and darts boards are available to customers in the spacious location.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed for good weather and good results for your favoured team! So get that footy shirt in the wash, sort out your Fantasy team and get ready for the drama!
