When it comes to turbo-meals in our home, Easy Peasy Cheesy Pasta is our go-to recipe that we enjoy at least two or three times a month. With protein and calcium from the cheese, tasty nutritious peas, and a great source of fibre from the wholewheat pasta we know that the whole family can get a healthy and balanced meal cooked in minutes.
Recipe for cheesy pasta using one pan!
What makes this even better, is that you can cook the whole meal in just one saucepan, so there’s far less washing up to argue about. It’s also cooked in a matter of minutes, with no chopping or slicing to worry about.
This recipe for Easy Peasy Cheesy Pasta not only contains plenty of its own goodness, but we’ve added in some flavourless Vitamin D3 Mini Drops from Nature’s Aid to give it an extra nutrient boost.
Easy peasy cheesy pasta – ingredients
300g Wholewheat pasta (fusilli or penne are best)
100g Frozen peas
150g Soft cream cheese
100g Grated parmesan (or similar hard cheese)
Nature’s Aid Vitamin D3 Mini Drops
Method
1) Add the pasta to a pan of boiling water and cook for 5-6 minutes. Add the frozen peas, and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Once cooked, drain with a colander and set to one side.
2) Return the pan to a medium-low heat on the hob, and add in the soft cheese. Once melted, stir through the grated parmesan and mix. Add the pasta and peas into the cheese sauce and stir to coat the pasta well.
3) Either add your Mini Drops into the pan before serving, or simply stir them through the dish once plated, remembering to follow the recommended dosage.
Top Tips!
- This dish will work with any kind of pasta shape, or even fresh pasta. Just remember to adjust your cooking time to suit.
- If your kids want more flavour, you can add in a spoonful of green pesto to the sauce of this recipe for cheesy pasta too. –
