As the dad in a house of 7 (3 kids, one partner, 2 dogs, zero time), a dishwasher isn’t just an appliance, it’s a lifesaver. So when our old machine breathed its last mid-bolognese night, I replaced it with this Hisense HV16CUK fully integrated dishwasher.
After several weeks of daily use here’s my honest take.
🏡 First Impressions
This is a built-in dishwasher that disappears into the kitchen cabinetry, giving our new kitchen a sleek, uncluttered look. I’d always choose integrated, if nothing else, for this reason alone. It holds up to 16 place settings — which, for a family that seems to eat all day long, at varying times, means we rarely need more than one cycle a day.
The loading space is great — three baskets plus a handy dedicated cutlery tray at the top make organising plates, pots, pans, and knives & forks way easier than juggling everything in one bottom rack.
🔇 Noise & Usability
One big win is how quietly it runs. On its eco or regular programmes it hums somewhere around 43 dB, which for anyone who doesn’t actually know how loud, or rather, quiet, that is… You can talk over it easily, and in fact, you hardly even notice that it’s on!
Controls are simple touch buttons and an LED display, so no wrestling with tiny knobs when one hand is full of mucky bowls!
🧼 Cleaning Performance
On our mixed load cycles (we’re talking burnt-on lasagne dishes and cereal bowls), the 3-level spray system seems to reach everything. Plates and mugs come out clean, and with the Auto Dry feature the door pops slightly open at the end so steam escapes and dishes come out dry — no more towel-flicking or water puddles. I’ve never had a dishwasher that does this, so when I was sitting at the island working and it suddenly popped open, I thought the house was haunted by ghost who clearly loved doing the dishes…
There’s also a Glass Programme for our nicer glasses and a 15-minute quick wash for lightly dirty stuff — perfect when you’ve just finished midweek dinner and need plates back in service before the kids start breakfast.
⚙️ Everyday Life With It

Loads a ton of dishes; great for big breakfasts and bake-off aftermaths.
-
Very quiet even mid-cycle.
-
Auto-dry makes unloading easier.
-
Cutlery tray is genuinely useful.
Cons
-
Energy rating is C — not terrible, just not excellent compared to premium models.
✔️ Verdict
If your household generates stacks of dishes like ours does, this Hisense integrated dishwasher is a solid, practical choice. It’s spacious, strong on cleaning, and doesn’t dominate your kitchen with noise. It’s not ultra premium, nor the most energy efficient, but as far as family workhorses go it ticks ALL the boxes — and gives me back minutes every day, which I end up just filling with other household chores… But at least washing the dishes isn’t one of them!
Would I recommend it? For a busy family home who want a reliable daily washer without fuss, yes, it’s been worth every spin.
